São Lourenço do Barrocal
Our wedding weekend will take place at São Lourenço do Barrocal, a beautiful, family-run estate in Portugal’s Alentejo region — surrounded by olive groves, cork trees, and wide open skies, with views of the hilltop village of Monsaraz in the distance. It’s peaceful, grounded, and full of quiet magic — the kind of place that invites you to slow down and really be present.
Lodging Details
We’ve booked the entire property so that we all can stay together in one place — something that felt deeply important to us. With a full weekend of celebrations ahead, having everyone nearby makes it easier to share not just the big moments, but the little ones too: a coffee on the terrace, a walk between events, a late-night chat under the stars.
You’ll receive an email from us soon with your room assignment and booking details. We’ve done our best to place everyone thoughtfully, with care and love.
If you have any questions, just reach out — we truly can’t wait to share this place and this experience with you.
Travel Information
We’re so excited to welcome you to Portugal! Here are a few helpful notes to support your travel plans, how to get to the venue, and if you are interested in spending time in Lisbon.
Arrival & Getting to the Venue
✈️ Most international flights arrive into Lisbon Airport (LIS). From there, it’s about a 2-hour drive to São Lourenço do Barrocal, where the celebrations will take place.
We recommend arriving at Barrocal by mid-afternoon on Thursday, September 25. We’ll be kicking things off with a relaxed picnic dinner and cocktail hour at 5:00pm, and we’d love for everyone to be there to settle in and ease into the weekend together.
Transportation Options
🚌 We have arranged for group shuttles between Lisbon Airport (LIS) and São Lourenço do Barrocal to make travel easy and hopefully less stressful

Prefer to Drive
🚗 You’re also welcome to rent a car if you’d like more flexibility before or after the wedding weekend. Once you arrive at Barrocal, everything is walkable, and we’ll handle local transportation for all scheduled events.
Spending Time in Lisbon
If you’re planning to explore Lisbon before or after the wedding weekend, we highly recommend it! Some of our favorite neighborhoods include Príncipe Real, Chiado, and Alfama — all charming, walkable areas with great food and local spots to discover.
Of note. Depending on your flight times, it might also make sense to spend a night in Lisbon either before or after the wedding weekend to make travel a little easier. If you're just looking for a quick, easy hotel near the airport, the Parque das Nações area is a convenient option close to the Tagus River, with views of one of the world’s longest bridges.
Need hotel or restaurant suggestions? Just let us know — we’re happy to share recs!
What to expect throughout the weekend!
Over the course of the weekend, we’ll share good food, great company, and unforgettable moments in this extraordinary landscape. From a laid-back welcome picnic to a night of dancing under the stars, each event is designed to be joyful, relaxed, and full of color.
Below, you’ll find the details for each gathering—we hope you’ll join us as we celebrate love, connection, and the beauty of being together in this special place.
most asked - what to wear!
We want you to feel comfortable, expressive, and celebration-ready. Here's what to keep in mind when packing:
This weekend is meant to feel warm, joyful, and laid back—so comfort and ease come first. Most of the time, you’ll want to be in casual, comfortable clothing that lets you enjoy the sun, the estate, maybe the pool, and each other’s company.
We do have a couple of moments where we hope you'll help bring the joy and color with a little more intention—especially for the welcome dinner and the wedding celebration. Just a touch of intention and bring all the personality.
☀️ Weather
Late September in Alentejo is typically warm during the day (around 26°C / 79°F) and comfortably cool at night (around 16°C / 61°F). A light wrap, jacket, or shawl will be helpful in the evenings.
👟 Footwear Note
The venue has grassy lawns, cobblestone paths, and dirt walkways—so leave the stilettos at home. Flats, sandals, sneakers, wedges, or block heels are all great options. Highly recommend rethinking heels but if you decide to wear heels, SoleMates or similar protectors are recommended.
A few Notes For Main Events
Friday Evening – Let’s Get The Party Started Dinner & Stargazing
✨ Dressy Casual or Cocktail
A festive, relaxed evening to kick things off. Think summer dresses, jumpsuits, or button-downs with trousers, sequins are always ok—something that feels celebratory but still comfortable. Footwear should be easy to move in on grass and stone.
Saturday – Wedding Celebration
✨ Black Tie Optional – But Make It Colorful!
This is the most dressed-up moment of the weekend—but it’s still us, so think joyful and expressive, not stiff or overly formal.
Think fun gowns, or dresses, a bold suit, not necessarily a tux. This is your moment to go bold and have fun! Picture a vibrant painting or blooming garden—jewel tones, pastels, bright prints, or rich solids, sparkles are all welcome. Of note is we kindly ask you to avoid black, white, grey, or khaki—this night is all about color, expression, and celebration. 💛💙💜❤️🌸🌿
